Billy Joel born Liam Martin "Billy" Joel (born May 9, 1949 in the Bronx and raised in Hicksville, New York) is an American rock musician, singer-songwriter, and classical composer. He released his first hit song, "Piano Man", in 1973. According to the RIAA, Billy Joel is the sixth best-selling recording artist in the United States. Joel had Top 10 hits in the '70s, '80s, and '90s and has 33 Top 40 hits in the United States overall. He is also a six-time Grammy Award winner, a 23-time Grammy nominee and has sold in excess of 150 million albums worldwide. He was inducted into the Songwriter's Hall of Fame (Class of 1992), the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (Class of 1999), and the Long Island Music Hall of Fame (Class of 2006).

The song "We Didn't Start The Fire," the first single from the album Storm Front, was released in September 1989. The song became Joel's third and most recent US Number 1 hit, spending two weeks at the top; it was also Billboard's next-to-last Number 1 single of 1980s. Storm Front was released in October, and it eventually became Joel's first Number 1 album since Glass Houses, 9 years earlier.[wikipedia]

What a spectacular video and lyrics, thanks to 'crlax22' for his effort to put up the video and pictures to blend so well with the music which reflects on the biggest world events, from 1949-1989. From Harry Truman to Rock And Rolla Cola Wars, the world has seen so much in these 40 years and I absolutely salute Billy for singing this song as it would be a big task to remember this kind of unusual lyrics.
