Bread was a rock/pop band from Los Angeles, California fresh from the oven in 1970 after a year of 'dough kneading' the combination of Gates, Griffin, Botts, Royer and Knectel who later replaced Royer. They were one of the most popular rock groups of the early 1970s, a primary example of what later was labeled "soft rock", releasing a string of well-crafted, melodic soft rock singles.
